Joe Taylor Bridge meeting

Yesterday, residents of Punta Gorda and surrounding areas gathered at the Hopeville Basketball Court to discuss pressing concerns that have been rising since the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing announced the reconstruction of the Joe Taylor Bridge and its alternate route to the Carib Reserve Road. Despite the weather, the residents came out and expressed concerns and suggestions to mitigate the huge impact on them especially with fuel prices. In addition to fuel prices, they also expressed concerns about businesses that will be affected and the mobilization of people who live along the Joe Taylor Bridge Road. Furthermore, they expressed concern about the condition of the Carib Reserve Road. PGTV was there. Today, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing had a meeting at the MIDH’s office to which stakeholders were invited. Still, due to the amount of pressing concern in yesterday’s meeting, the residents also went to the meeting to have a meaningful consultation with the Ministry.
