Ya’axche celebrates 25th years

Belize is well known internationally for protecting its environment. While the government is in charge of the public lands and seas, it is the environmental organizations that manage these protected areas. On Friday Night Ya’axche celebrated its 25th year in existence. This celebration took place at Copal Tree Lodge where Ya’axche’s team highlighted their achievements in the last twenty-five years. The event was well attended, with the presence of ministers other government officials, and members of the international donor community. Ya’axche has put together a short film highlighting their achievements we will show this film at the end of our news. Meanwhile in Belize City on Saturday the Turneffe Atoll Sustainable Association TASA, which is an environmental organization that manages the Turneffe Atoll celebrated its 10th anniversary. At this anniversary the Prime Minister of Belize was the guest speaker. PGTV was there. Also, PG’s very own Lindsay Garbutt and Wil Maheia received awards.
