Minister of National Security Visits Cadenas OP

Since 1993 every BDF soldier who has served at the Cadenas Observation Post, located along the southern border of Belize has dealt with the grueling ordeal of going up and down the mountain where the observation post sits Yesterday, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. John Saldivar along with UDP standard bear candidate and UDP Central favorite, Dennis Garbutt took two military vessels to visit Cadenas OP to see works in progress to construct a stairway to the top of the mountain. The project is long-term and when completed will have over (1000) steps.

But while the stairs will be a huge asset to our military, the flashy display used to get Minister Saldivar and Mr. Garbutt to the OP definitely rack up thousands of dollars in cost, money that could have been used to rehabilitate the horrible streets here in Punta Gorda Town or used to complete the bridge in San Jose Village that Minister Saldivar had promised.
