The People’s Diabetes Foundation Belize may be a new name to some, but it was founded by Judith Mendez, who has personally experienced the challenges of living with diabetes. The foundation’s mission is to promote diabetes awareness and educate communities across the country. November is recognized as Diabetes Awareness Month, and on Thursday, November 14th, the People’s Diabetes Foundation will host a walk in Punta Gorda, starting at 9 a.m. from the St. Peter Claver School field. The walk aims to unite the community in support of those affected by diabetes and to educate the public on diabetes prevention.
