Nearly a decade has passed since the Caribbean Courts of Justice ruled in favor of the Maya people in their fight for land rights. Yet, ten years and two administrations later, many of the court’s directives remain unfulfilled. Wednesday May 7th, 2025, government ministers visited Punta Gorda and met with the Toledo Alcalde Association(TAA) to discuss a path forward.
