Ya’axché Conservation Trust has concluded its LEAF-funded project. Empowering Youths of the Maya Golden Landscape for Conservation Actions and Storytelling. The closing ceremony was held over the weekend. Youth citizen scientists from five communities have been actively engaged in watershed conservation and management. The youths conducted water quality monitoring and reported on the condition of rivers that their communities depend on. They also documented and shared stories highlighting locally led environmental actions carried out by community groups.
