Over the years, NGOs in Toledo have played a critical role in the district’s development. This has been made possible through grants provided by donor agencies. This past weekend, more than two hundred thousand dollars in grant funding was awarded to two organizations based in Punta Gorda Town. One of the recipients was the Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management, commonly known as SATIIM, which received one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. The Home of Indigenous Arts Belize also received one hundred and twenty thousand dollars in funding.
