For weeks now, we have been reporting on the elderly residents who use the HOPE building in the Magoon area. Access to the facility has become increasingly inconvenient for them due to the broken bridge. Last week, the Punta Gorda Town Council posted on its Facebook page that construction on the bridge would begin on August 5, accompanied by photos showing large culverts that had reportedly arrived for the project. PGTV conducted a fact-check and found that no work has begun at the site. We also observed that there were no culverts at the bridge site to replace the existing structure. Based on our findings, the information posted by the Punta Gorda Town Council did not materialize, which means the town council lied to the people of Punta Gorda town and the world by posting that information on their Facebook page.
