Belize, as a developing country, faces numerous challenges, particularly in accommodating, supporting, and empowering individuals with diverse abilities. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually, with activities extending throughout the week. In Toledo, Julian Cho Technical High School stands out as the only institution in the area with an established special needs program. The school is celebrating Diverse Abilities Week with a variety of events. On Tuesday December 3rd, they held a church assembly to kick off the celebrations. This was followed by Disability Colour Awareness Day on Wednesday and will conclude on Friday with a Spelling Bee Competition.
