Basketball Is Back In Punta Gorda

Over the last couple of months, the state of organized basketball here in Punta Gorda Town has been nonexistent to say the least. There was nothing in place to help propel the sport forward and any attempts to rectify that issue was only met with adversity. In fact, the last basketball events outside of the sport council camps were political stunts to help boost several candidates in the last mayoral election. Tonight we are happy to report that after nine months, basketball has made its comeback. Not through politics, but through a new body, The Punta Gorda Basketball Association or PGBA for short. The Association’s objective is to rejuvenate basketball here in Punta Gorda Town and they have decided to kick things off with an interoffice tournament. If anyone is interested in joining this tournament please call association at 614-0351.There are limited spaces so register early. As long your employed by an organization or a company be it private or government you will be eligible to play.
