We reported that for nearly a year the Punta Gorda Town Council has been operating without a Town Administrator. We have since learned that the Ministry of Local Government has been urging the council to fill the post, as required by law. The Town Administrator plays a key role in the daily operations of the council. The position is responsible for implementing policies, overseeing staff, and ensuring that the council’s decisions are carried out efficiently. Without an administrator, much of this responsibility falls directly on the Mayor and Councilors, which can affect the smooth running of municipal services. Despite the ministry’s calls, the Punta Gorda Town Council has not yet been able to make an appointment.
