Ryoko Kimura a JICA Volunteer and partners held Plastic Forum in Punta Gorda

When it comes to plastics, they are used for many useful purposes but if not use properly it is detrimental to our world. According to statistics between 4.8 and 12.7 million tons of plastic enter the ocean each year. With the current trend to curb plastic pollution in our country, a way forward is being charted by the government with the banning of single use plastics and Styrofoam. A two day plastic forum was held by JICA and partners for teachers at the Toledo community College compound where they were engaged in sessions about plastics and plastics pollution.
