PG youth James Michael Bregal IV represents Belize in Monterrey Mexico

James Michael Bregal IV was born in Punta Gorda Town. He is the son of Nicole Alvarez “Ms Cola”.  He attended Punta Gorda Methodist preschool and did primary school at Saint Peter Claver RC School where his talent in track and field was discovered. He attended Toledo Community College where he began travelling internationally in the 100m, 200m and 4 by 100m relay. His international appearance was in 2012 in Mexico where he won gold! He was also selected in high school to compete in Guatemala for the CODICADER high school games where he got silver in the 100m. In 2015 he was awarded a youth in sports award held in Belize City by the department of youth services for his outstanding achievement. At age 17 he joined the senior national team and won gold, setting a new Belizean relay record in Managua, Nicaragua putting him on the books. James has been to all Central American countries competing in the junior and senior Central America championship, Caribbean games and the North, Central and Caribbean games combined. He also went to the world youth championship held in South America, Cali Colombia representing Belize on the bigger stage. He is the top youth sprinter in Belize, this year at the age of 20 he is officially a senior athlete whom is well respected among his pairs. Currently he is studying at the University of Belize, enrolled in the Pharmacy degree program, he is also the secretary of advocacy for the Belmopan campus student government, a YAG member for UNFPA, founder and president of his non-profit group that helps underprivileged kids through empowerment of quality education as a way of giving back to his country. James is schedule to compete in Monterrey Mexico on June 1st 2018 for the Mexico championship, after which he will be competing in Nicaragua at the senior Central America championship with hope to qualify for NACAC champs in Canada and Caribbean games in PERU .James advice to his fellow youths is to believe in your-self, surround your-self with people who will make you grow.
