Guatemalan Armed Forces enter Belizean Waters at Sapodilla Caye Marine Reserve

For many years, environmental organizations studying grouper spawning aggregations have been diving what is called spag sites in the sapodilla cayes marine reserve. On December 31^st, a group of divers from a non-governmental organization was diving when they were intercepted by Guatemalan armed forces. The group of divers were instructed to leave the area because that area is claimed to be Guatemalan territory.
