San Lucas Solar Lights Arrives In Time For Christmas

San Lucas, one of the most remote villages in Toledo, has never had electricity—until now. Thanks to Plenty Belize International, in collaboration with the UNDP and other stakeholders, significant progress is being made in bringing solar energy to rural communities in the region. December 14, a solar energy project was inaugurated in Yalbac Village, providing 21 families with access to electricity just in time for Christmas. The organization continued its work in San Lucas and Lucky Strike, where they officially launched additional solar systems, allowing families to transition from traditional lamps and kerosene to sustainable, green energy.
