Tensions are heating up in the village of Corazón at Corazón Technical High School. Several parents are upset that their children have not advanced to Fourth Form, reportedly because one teacher claimed that nearly half the class failed English. Typically, when so many students fail, summer classes are offered to help them improve; however, some parents say that Corazón High School did not hold any summer classes this year, unlike in previous years. We are investigating this story because, in these rural communities, students are often withdrawn from school rather than repeat a grade, a trend that contributes to a higher number of high school dropouts.
