On Wednesday, October 16th, Minister of Tourism Anthony Mahler, along with his team overseeing the Marina Project, visited Punta Gorda. For the first time in quite a while, the town saw full attendance at a public consultation. During the session, the team presented their assessment and findings on the Marina’s construction, along with detailed development plans. It was also announced that 800 feet of Front Street will be paved, which was welcomed as positive and long-overdue news for the southern region. However, concerns arose when residents learned that the Department of the Environment had already granted environmental clearance for the project. Many voiced worries about the Marina’s sustainability during its construction phase.
