For over 15 years, the Belize Territorial Volunteers (BTV) have journeyed to the Sarstoon River on the final weekend of April. This annual expedition serves as a powerful reminder of the historic treaty signed on April 30, 1859, between Great Britain and Guatemala—establishing the official borders of Belize. Through this tradition, the BTV continues to raise awareness and inspire national pride in Belize’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
