A few weeks ago, we told you about the deplorable condition of the Barranco pier. The pier is used by the Belize Coast Guard and, at times, by the Belize Defense Force. The Chairperson of Barranco made an appeal for repairs to the deteriorating structure. However, that appeal, despite being made by a PUP village council, appears to have fallen on deaf ears. The pier has deteriorated even further and is now almost completely gone. We attempted to get another comment from the frustrated Chairman of Barranco but were unable to reach him. We also reached out to members of the village council Dr. Francis Arzu, but he was not available for an interview. PGTV will continue to follow this story.
