At this time of the year many villages and towns around the country get ready to celebrate
Belize Independence Day. Many do this by choosing a queen for their village or town. this
year’s seems to be another year that the PG town council has ignored the tradition of
having a queen competition, but the village of Colombia did not follow their footsteps. On
Saturday August 30, all roads led to the village of Colombia where they selected their Miss
Colombia from a group of five contestants. At the end of the contest Ms. Alma Tulcey won
the coveted crown of Ms. Colombia.
