Saturday April 12, 100 people travelled from Punta Gorda Belize to Punta Gorda in Rotan Honduras. They were there to remember and celebrate the arrival of the Garifuna’s who arrived on the shores of what is now Honduras in 1779. They arrived there after being expelled from their native land of St. Vincent and the Grenadines by the British who had occupied their islands. This day they do not want to forget hence the survival day celebration.
