The Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) has been actively engaged in Punta Gorda Town throughout the year, hosting events such as the Night Markets and other initiatives. One of their most significant annual events is the Chocolate Festival of Belize, which draws hundreds of visitors to PG. Over the past two years, under the leadership of Dennis Garbutt, the BTIA Toledo Chapter has gained prominence, consistently showcasing PG on the national and international stage. On Wednesday, December 11th, the BTIA Toledo Chapter held its Annual General Meeting at Garbutt’s Marine, where a new executive team and chairperson were elected. Robert Pennell, a dedicated and active member of the community, was elected as the new Chairperson of the BTIA Toledo Chapter. He will serve in this role for the next two years. We extend our congratulations to the newly elected executive members and commend them for stepping up to further promote tourism in PG and, by extension, the entire Toledo District.
