Check for expiration dates before purchasing food items

The Punta Gorda Community Hospital and its Health inspector are reminding the general public to be cautious when purchasing store items. Over the past months, the health inspector has been inspecting stores, restaurants, and bars to ensure that customers are served quality food. At every inspection, the health inspector, two environmental officers, and a police officer seize expired items at an average of 150 pounds per store. Let’s start checking the expiration dates on products before purchasing.
