PGTV Is Highlighting Individuals and Businesses for Earth Day

Earth day was started in 1970 in the United States. Today it is celebrated in over 190 countries including Belize. Earth day is celebrated so that people can be more aware of the environment and its importance. This year’s team is Planet vs Plastics. This year PGTV will be highlighting business and organizations that focus on making the earth a better place. Today we look at Eugenio Ah an organic farmer from the village of San Antonio who cares deeply about the earth. If you would like to visit Witzil Hi Farm owned and operated by Eugenio Ah’s, please visit him in San Antonio Village; you can call 634-9021 to arrange for a site visit and enjoy some of his delicious home-grown food. At PGTV for this Earth Day we salute Eugenio Ah.

PNP Distributes Seedlings In Belize District

Yesterday Wednesday July 22nd, the People’s National Party traveled to the Belize District,  where they distributed seedlings. The PNP wants the country to  know that they are committed to promoting sustainable  development across the country. Hundreds of seedlings  were distributed to residents.

The BYRISE Summer Camp is now in its third year. The camp  is unique because it not only teaches young people the fundamentals of basketball but also provides an  after-school program designed to support students with their academics. 

WILD501 Exhibition In PG

The WILD501 Exhibition made its final stop in Punta Gorda last week.  The exhibition is currently on display at the Punta Gorda Welcome Center.  WILD501 is an exhibition and virtual educational tool featuring videos  and images created by Carol and Richard Foster. For more than 30 years,  the couple has been documenting Belize’s rich wildlife and natural  beauty through photography and filmmaking. Their  work has been featured by National Geographic and the BBC.

Kriol Summer Camp Closing Ceremony

Last week, we told you about the launch of the first-ever Kriol Summer Camp,  where young people from Punta Gorda and the surrounding communities learned  more about Kriol culture. One of the main highlights of the camp was teaching  participants traditional drumming, Kriol vocabulary, and folk tales.
