The 19th of November Garifuna Settlement Day celebrations in Punta Gorda were a huge success, drawing an impressive crowd from both Belize and neighboring Livingston, Guatemala. Many Garinagu brothers and sisters made the journey across the gulf to celebrate the rich culture, history, and unity of the Garifuna people. The festivities kicked off on the night of November 18th with an all-night concert at the Welcome Plaza. At dawn on the 19th, the traditional Yurumein reenactment took place at the Cooperative Wharf.
