Students Educated On Rabies Awareness

Rabies is a viral disease that affects the central nervous system and can spread when an infected animal bites a person. It can also be transmitted when the saliva of an infected animal enters an open wound or comes into contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. If you are unaware of the signs and symptoms and interact with an animal that may have rabies, the disease can be transmitted to you and can be fatal. Dr. Ludwig Palacio, a veterinarian, conducted a sensitization session with 3rd Form Science students at TCC to educate them on the importance of being vigilant. This educational campaign was part of World Rabies Day, observed on September 28th.
