For several months now PGTV have been telling the viewers of Toledo and the World of a situation in San Antonio Village, where the Medical Department is taking waste from other medical facilities and burning them in their community. This is a very unhealthy situation for the residents of San Antonio. The residents are alarmed that the government of Belize has not invested in an incinerator that can properly dispose of these medical wastes. Residents are calling on the government to immediately stop the burning of medical waste in their community.
