On Tuesday night, the Belize tourism industry association (BTIA) Punta Gorda chapter held a consultation at the new welcome center in Punta Gorda. The meeting was attended by national BTIA chairman, Mr. Efrain Paris, and focused on strategies to further develop tourism in the toledo district. During the consultation, several concerns were raised by stakeholders. Chief among them was the ongoing garbage situation, followed by discussions on ways to increase visitor traffic through the Punta Gorda customs and immigration points.
