During election season, the phrase “Todos Ganamos” meaning “Everybody fi win” in Creole, became a popular slogan for the PUP. But for many residents in Punta Gorda, that promise feels far from reality. One of the town’s long-standing issues continues to be its deplorable streets and failing infrastructure. For months, PGTV has been highlighting the broken manhole in front of the police station, a serious hazard for schoolchildren who pass the area daily. Yet, despite repeated reports, the issue remains unresolved. Earlier this week, frustrated residents of the Indian Ville area took matters into their own hands. Tired of waiting on government intervention, they purchased their own materials and hired a private contractor to repair a badly damaged street in their neighborhood.
