Belize Waters Breached By Fishers

Illegal fishing has long been a concern championed by the Belize Territorial Volunteers. On Wednesday October 1st, 2025, while accompanying a group of bird watchers near the Sarstoon River, members of the organization observed several unmarked canoes and small motor vessels along the Belizean shoreline. Upon further inspection, the boats were found to belong to Guatemalan fishers engaged in illegal fishing within Belizean waters.
