For several weeks, rumors have circulated that the Barranco village council planned to occupy the SATIIM Ranger Station at the mouth of the Temash River. On Friday, Barranco village chairman Leslie Colon confirmed to PGTV that the council has followed through on that plan. A team was sent to in to take control of the long-abandoned station, which the council now hopes to repurpose as a source of income for the village. Additionally, the move is intended to support the council’s efforts to better manage and protect village lands.
