3 Individuals From Toledo Were Recognized As True Belizean Patriots

The month of September is marked by a series of events that culminate in the celebration of Belize’s Independence Day. Wednesday September 17th, during the Tribute to Belizean Patriots, 19 Belizeans were recognized and awarded for their contributions to the development of the country in various sectors, ranging from education, music environment and many others. Out of the 19 honorees, 3 individuals from Toledo were recognized as true Belizean patriots. Ms. Gudelia Pop from San Antonio was honored posthumously for her exceptional service as a midwife, Mr. David Forman was recognized as a lifelong educator and mentor, and Mr. Emmet Young was acknowledged for his contribution to music.
