As of yesterday, October 1st, the Queen Conch season is officially open, giving Belizean fishers the green light to once again harvest one of the country’s important marine resources. The annual season comes with specific regulations to manage the conch fishery and ensuring the species remains available for future generations. Fishers are required to follow established guidelines regarding the harvesting, size, and handling of Queen Conch.
