Joint Patrol Seizes Illegal Gillnets

PGTV is happy to report that a joint enforcement operation involving the Fisheries Department, TIDE Rangers, and the Belize Coast Guard has resulted in a significant interception at sea. During the patrol, authorities seized several illegal gillnets gear that is prohibited due to its destructive impact on Belize’s marine resources. In addition to the confiscated nets, the team also detained two Honduran nationals who were allegedly fishing illegally within Belizean waters.
