The second annual Anselmo “Chemo” Cruz Fishing Tournament was held on Sunday, September 14th, drawing fishermen and women eager to compete for the grand prize of $1,200. Despite the attractive prizes the turnout was very low compared to TIDE’s tournament where more than 25 boats participated. The tournament is named in memory of the late Anselmo “Chemo” Cruz, a well-known fisherman from Punta Gorda whose legacy continues to inspire the local fishing community.
