On Sunday the Belize Territorial Volunteers BTV made its 15th annual trip to the Sarstoon Island. These trips are done to show solidarity with Belize, especially around Independence Day. The trips are no stranger to controversy and this year was no different. Last year, the GAF stole two of Belize’s flags after the BTV had planted them on Sarstoon Island. This year, they stole three of the flags and a possible 4th one. At the planting of the third flag, 15-year-old Kristel Melchor let the GAF know in Spanish, that they were in Belize waters. PGTV was along as the BTV made its way to Sarstoon Island.
