The Port light in PG is located just in front of the Customs Department and has been there for more than 100 years. Over the years, the port light had guide ships safely into PG. With technology, more fancy lights have come in and the port light was not being used but it is an important part of PG’s history. While building the welcome center, someone had taken it to Belize City and that made a lot of PG people upset. Many of these people did not keep their mouth shut and spoke up demanding that the light be returned to its rightful place here in PG. Well after years of lobbying the port light is back. We note that the youths of PG along with some elderly folks assisted in this historic event. A special thank you goes to the Pascascio family for their assistance with safety hornets as the light was installed.
