On Tuesday August 3rd, the Belize Peace Movement issued a press release refuting a public statement by the Minster of Governance. The BPM describes this statement as erroneous as the minister declared the case of redistricting suspended. This suspension is due to the late submission of witness statements on two occasions. The BPM makes clear, that this claim is false, as witness statements were submitted prior to deadlines on both occasions. Having the redistricting case suspended is just another roadblock to fair representation in our country and the BPM urges the media to give redistricting the level of importance it deserves.
