Barranco is the oldest and southern most village in the country of Belize. It has existed long before the village of Midway. As time went by, more and more Mayan family came and settled and eventually formed their own village which is now called Midway inside the Barranco Village limits. Well, as land has become increasingly scarce with village growth, there is now a dispute between the villagers as to where exactly the limits of Barranco and Midway reside. The situation is now tense and, an order to cease and desist, was issued to a Barranco family by the Lands Department. Unconfirmed reports to PGTV are that Midway villagers objected to the family working on the land they now claim as a part of Midway. Update on this issue will be posted as they become available.
