PACT Is To Grant Over 3 Million Dollars For The Protected Area Of Toledo

Last week residents of Toledo were very happy to hear that Protected Area Conservation Trust PACT announced that it would grant over 3 million dollars for protected areas in Toledo. Toledo Institute for Development and Environment TIDE, and Ya’Axche are the main beneficiaries of these grants.  While many people are happy about the amount of money PACT granted to Toledo NGO’s, many are concerned about the fact that not a dollar was allocated for the Sarstoon Temash National Park or The Colombia Forest Reserve, which are two parks that are located along the borderline areas and suffer from major encroachment. We try to get a comment from PACT but so far no one has responded.
