Last week Thursday, Punta Gorda Town was buzzing with rumors that two councilors from the newly elected Town Council under the leadership of Mayor Ashton Mckenzie had resigned. Everyone was curious to find out which two had resigned and by early Friday it was revealed that Deputy Mayor Franklin “Kranka” Polonio and Councilor Kevin Chuc had both send in their letter of resignation. If that wasn’t strange enough before the end of the day, PGTV received confirmation that the councilors resignation letters were denied by the Party executives in Belize City and that they were called to rescind their resignations. We understand that the chairman of UDP came to PG over the weekend put a scolding on the councilors and had them rescind their resignations.
