Diabetes can cause Blindness. It is a global issue with one of the most debilitating complications, Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) as the third cause of blindness in Belize. BCVI has embarked on a country wide program to identify, screen and treat people with diabetes in order to prevent blindness. Here in Punta Gorda free screening started today the 10th and will continue through to the 14th of December.
