Removal of asbestos roofing starts

San Miguel R.C. School

Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Residents of San Miguel village today began the process of dismantling a dilapidated roof on one of the school buildings in the community.

The material that is being removed is not only old it is also a health hazard as it is made of asbestos.

As we reported on Thursday, the Parent/Teachers Association working in a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Education, Toledo Catholic Schools, Department of Environment, Solid Waste Management and friends of the San Miguel R.C. School, is pushing the renovation effort.

The plan is to maintain the architectural design of the roof, but the hazardous asbestos material will be replaced.
